Byte's & Bit's
The wild ones beside them.
The Byte's & Bit's are the wild ones who live beside the peoples of Arc. Most of them are known only by a number: there are 96 Bits and 22 Bytes. Six Bytes carry a name of their own: NibbleByte, LunaByte, GlimByte, HexByte, BuggyByte and ChampByte.
A Byte is a common kind: there are many of each. A Bit is one of a kind: there is only one of every Bit.
They are wild, but they are not animals. They live free in the wilds, not among the peoples, and they are clever: many wear clothes or armour and carry weapons. Most of them are harmless, but some are dangerous. Now and then, one lets itself be tamed.
They have always been on Arc. Nobody asks why.
